    outstanding experience
    fresh rib eye

The dinner we had was astonishing, they served this unbelievable rib eye that melted in your mouth, and I can’t forget the fresh local greens! They treated us like we mattered, always asking if we needed anything and genuinely helping out.

It wasn't cheap, but you get what you pay for.

The location was ideal for our family visit, making it easy to connect with relatives. The concierge’s willingness to accommodate our grandkids for pool access was a standout factor in our overall enjoyment.

The pool hours could have been more flexible.

    kind staff
    gorgeous grounds
    comfortable accommodations
    smoky entry
    cleanliness issue

We enjoyed our one-night stay at Barrows House, finding the bed in our King Room super comfortable and the staff incredibly kind and attentive. They even provided backup linens and pillows due to my allergy, which felt very thoughtful. The grounds were gorgeous, and the breakfast served was delicious. We didn't get to dine at the on-site restaurant, but we heard great things from locals. On the downside, the entryway had a smoky smell, likely from the fireplace. It would have been nice if that had been addressed. Overall, this place has a lot of charm, but a fresher smell upon entry would enhance the experience.

    cozy fireplace
    scenic grounds
    smoky odor

The Queen Room features a cozy fireplace, enhancing the atmosphere, especially on colder evenings. The hotel offers immediate access to scenic grounds that include a pool and a gazebo, perfect for leisurely strolls.

The entryway had a noticeable smoky odor, likely from the fireplace, which could put a damper on the first impression. During my two-night stay, I noticed some aging in facilities, calling for updates and maintenance in spots that appeared worn. There seemed to be occasional noise disturbances, particularly from nearby wedding celebrations, potentially impacting relaxation.

    cozy fireplace
    beautiful grounds
    well-maintained spaces
    smoky odor

The Queen Room offers a delightful ambiance with a cozy fireplace that adds a warm touch on crisp nights. The property features beautiful, well-maintained outdoor spaces with a pool and gazebo, inviting guests to unwind and enjoy nature.

The entryway had a smoky smell, likely from the fireplace, which may impact first impressions for some. During my stay, I experienced intermittent Wi-Fi connectivity, making it a bit tricky to stay connected. Additionally, while the surrounding areas are charming, parking can be a bit limited, which could be inconvenient during busy times.

My stay at Barrows House was fantastic! The cozy King Room offered comfort, and the service from the attentive staff made my visit memorable. The on-site dining was enjoyable, though I did notice a bit of a wait during breakfast. Can't wait to come back for another road trip!

Just a fine choice for a brief weekend stay in Dorset with good value for money. Amy at the front desk made us feel really welcome and gave us great local tips. Check out the fireplace area for a cozy hangout on cold nights.

    outdoor swimming pool
    beautiful gardens
    small room

We had such a blast at this charming inn with friends! The outdoor swimming pool and beautiful gardens made our stay relaxing and fun. We loved dinner at the inn and enjoyed breakfast at the nearby spot included in our rate. Definitely a place I’d recommend for a fun getaway.

Our only issue was that the room was a bit smaller than expected, but it was still clean and comfy.

    homely breakfast
    quiet environment

The breakfast at the sister facility was incredible. it felt like waking up to a home-cooked meal. Plus, the area was pretty quiet, giving us a chance to actually relax and unwind after a long drive.

It cost a bit more than expected, but at least the experience was decent.
